  I’m currently an OMS2 at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine- Bradenton

• What kind of identities do you inhabit?

  Christian, daughter, sister, and Indian would be the words i identify with the most.

• The path to medicine is not easy. Can you tell us why you decided to pursue it?

  My family had periods where we did no have insurance coverage. It helped me see how many families didn’t receive quality health care because of access issues.

• Can you describe a challenging moment in medicine that made you rethink your career path?

  I don’t think any student is completely prepared for the expectations of a medical student before they enter medical school. Adjusting to medical school was difficult, let alone going through a pandemic and first year at the same time.

• Why are you interested in this organization?

  I’m at a location where there aren’t many opportunities to get exposed to PM&R. It was very difficult to find opportunities to get exposed to and learn more about the field. I hope this is an opportunity for me to promote PM&R and increase exposure through multiple avenues.

• Can you tell us a little bit of your aspirations - either for your career or for the field of medicine (if you’re a medical student?)

  I hope to become a physiatrist that incorporates integrative health practices for my patients. I would like to go into the field of pain medicine or sports medicine.
