At a young age I was always fascinated by the human anatomy. I grew up extremely close to my grandfather who unfortunately didn't have a balanced or healthy lifestyle. At a young age I began to see his body deteriorate as he suffered from CKD and ongoing dialysis. I learned from a young age not only the importance of medicine but also prevention. Preventative medicine became a huge field of interest for me and being able to not only prolong someone's life but also the quality of their life.

Like many, the feelings of self-doubt had come into play early during my undergraduate career. Through thoughtful introspection and my strong support system of family/friends, I was able to step back and think about why I chose to pursue a career in medicine. I feel extremely grateful to be part of the medical community as a future physician.

This organization really gave me a snapshot into the future of PM&R. It is a group of diverse people and individuals passionate about delivering holistic care to patients in the field of physiatry. This organization also highlights many leaders and their hard work to bring equity within the field. One of the volunteer activities I thoroughly enjoy is spending time at free clinic. Equity in PM&R is important to me since many of these patients don't have access to rehabilitation. I hope to build a better bridge in providing care for marginalized communities.

I am currently interested in general Physiatry. I hope to have a balance between outpatient (EMG/MSK) and inpatient rehabilitation.
